Kolynos | 1962

Kolynos, the toothpaste remembered by generations of Brazilians, ran this ad in O Cruzeiro in 1962.

Created in 1908 in the United States by dentist Neal Jenkins, Kolynos went on sale in Brazil in 1917 with the slogan “cleans your teeth and your brush too”.

Colgate-Palmolive bought it in 1995 and replaced it with the Sorriso brand.

Curiously, until 2002 Kolynos still topped the Top of Mind ranking as the toothpaste brand consumers remembered most, years after leaving the market. In 2003 it was still second.
