“You wouldn't forget these holidays… so don't forget to take photos or films.” In December 1968, Kodak reminded Spanish readers of Selecciones that Christmas only becomes unforgettable if someone records it.
The ad lists the moments to capture: a child opening a present, the family dinner, friends arriving. And it names three films: Kodachrome for home movies, Ektachrome for slides and Kodacolor-X for prints.
Kodak, founded by George Eastman in Rochester in the 1880s, had turned photography into a family habit. In 1968 a colour snapshot still meant a roll of film, a trip to the shop and days of waiting.
