Kodak | 1922

Vintage ad for Kodak, 1922

A camera ad always brings to mind the many cameras that came after: film, disposable, waterproof, automatic, SLR, zoom and finally digital.

Kodak is part of history now, and so is developing photos from a holiday, a trip or a birthday. Today almost everyone, even children, carries a camera in their pocket, along with their music, films, albums and books, all in one device. Millions even have their own photo gallery on Instagram, Pinterest or Flickr.

This Kodak ad, almost 100 years old, ran in the Spanish magazine Blanco y Negro. It describes a camera “so small it fits in your pocket, so perfectly made that anyone can take pictures without training”.

Almost a century later, the same arguments could sell today’s phones.
