Dextropur | 1959

1959 German magazine ad for Dextropur glucose. Drawing of a smiling young man and woman in tennis clothes leaning on a wooden rail with rackets and a shuttlecock, in front of a large white Dextropur box with a corn cob in a blue circle. Script headline “Kostbare Stunden des Tages!” and text on the right.

“Kostbare Stunden des Tages!”: precious hours of the day. In 1959, Dextropur promised energy not only for work but for the free evening hours, for “company, sport or any hobby”: “Make it a good habit: DEXTROPUR in your drink every day!”

Dextropur is pure glucose. It was launched in 1927 by Deutsche Maizena as “Dextrose Purum” and took the name Dextropur in 1929, sold in pharmacies, drugstores and health-food shops.

The tennis couple shows a new idea of the economic boom: success had to be earned, and free time had to be used well.

Today nutritionists advise limiting sugar. Dextropur is still sold in German pharmacies, now under the Dextro Energy brand.

Precious hours of the day!
Today, more than ever, success has to be earned. But anyone who constantly goes beyond the limits of their strength not only endangers their health but also carelessly passes by the sunny side of life.
Energy, quick decisiveness and stamina at work are not enough on their own. Just as important are natural freshness, vigour and open-mindedness in the free evening hours, so that you still have the right zest for company, sport or any hobby.
Make it a good habit: DEXTROPUR in your drink, daily and regularly! You immediately feel new strength and fresh energy, because DEXTROPUR goes straight into the blood. DEXTROPUR naturally and quickly rebuilds the strength you use up every day and every hour. DEXTROPUR in your drink regularly – and you stay fresh and supple beyond working hours.
DEXTROPUR – for health – for success!
DEXTROPUR is absorbed directly by the blood and works immediately
