Graetz | 1959

“Klangecht – zuverlässig”: true to sound, reliable. In 1959, Graetz presented its large radios with “full stereo” for stereo records and tape, and invited readers to the Graetz hall at the radio, TV and phono exhibition in Frankfurt, 14–23 August.
The firm was born in Berlin in 1866 making oil lamps. After the war its Berlin works were expropriated, and the Graetz brothers started again in Altena, Westphalia, in 1948.
The column on the left lists the whole range, with names straight from the dance hall: Danza, Polka, Canzonetta, Musica, Melodia, Fantasia, from 165 to 499 marks.
In 1961 the company was sold to Standard Elektrik Lorenz, and the name lived on for years as ITT-Graetz.
