Vintage ad for Brastemp, 1962

Brastemp, one of the brands that became a byword for quality in Brazil, was founded in the 1950s in São Bernardo do Campo, São Paulo. Some years later it became part of the American Whirlpool group, and it is still one of the best-remembered brands in Brazil.

Many say the name comes from combining Brasil and temperatura.
