VARIG | 1962

Not an Airbus, not a Boeing 747. In 1962 the big sensation at Brazilian airports was the Electra II, the new aircraft VARIG was putting into service.
The ad stressed speed and comfort for 68 passengers, and the ability to land on short runways such as Santos Dumont Airport, right in the centre of Rio de Janeiro.
VARIG, Brazil’s first airline, stopped flying in 2013 but lives on in the memory of many generations.
