Prada | 1961

Founded by a family of Italian immigrants who had run various businesses in Limeira, in the São Paulo countryside, the Prada hat factory began in 1907 in the house of one of them, Agostinho Prada. (No relation to the Italian fashion house.)
At its peak, in the late 1960s and early 70s, Prada employed more than a thousand people, in the days when a hat was essential in every man’s wardrobe.
In 2000 the Prada brand was sold to an Italian company, but the hat factory is still running today under Pralana Indústria e Comércio Ltda.
