Vintage ad for Hollywood, 1964

A cigarette ad really is a museum piece today. In this 1964 ad from O Cruzeiro, Brazil’s leading illustrated weekly, Souza Cruz’s Hollywood brand used a headline that now sounds almost like a prophecy: “Moments that memory keeps forever”.

Since 2000, cigarette advertising has been banned from the media in Brazil, and the health risks of tobacco are well known today.
