Vintage ad for KRAFT, 1958

In 1903 James L. Kraft, a Canadian of German descent, walked the streets of Chicago with a horse-drawn cart, selling cheese to local shopkeepers.

He opened his first cheese factory in 1914, the start of a century-old company that is now a food industry giant.

In 1928 the company launched Velveeta, which became one of Kraft’s most popular products.

In Brazil, Kraft owned several traditional brands, including Lacta, maker of Sonho de Valsa chocolates.

This 1958 ad from the German magazine Quick advertises Kraft’s famous Velveeta cheese.
