Wurzener | 1911
An excellent butter biscuit. Founded in Germany in 1847 by Johann Friedrich Krietsch, Wurzener is still going strong after more than 170 years.
The company survived both world wars and expropriation by the former GDR, communist East Germany, where businesses belonged to the state. After reunification it was privatised.
This ad ran in Germany in 1911 with the headline “Krietsch’s Petit Beurre. Excellent butter biscuit”.
