Singer | 1943

Vintage ad for Singer, 1943

Created by American Isaac Merritt Singer in 1850 and patented a year later in the United States, the Singer sewing machine became a worldwide reference.

Singer has lived through a radical change in society. Today few families sew or keep a sewing machine at home, and the brand has added other household appliances to its range.

In this ad, published in the middle of the Second World War, Singer tells readers it still has needles and parts in stock, though supplies are limited.

It ran in Brazil in 1943, in Seleções, the Brazilian edition of Reader’s Digest.

Text in the ad
