Nescau | 1970
Nestlé + Cacáo = Nescáo. Launched by Nestlé in 1932, Nescau was created and made entirely in Brazil. After more than 85 years it is still the market leader among chocolate drinks.
The name Nescáo combined Nestlé and cacáo (the spelling of cacau at the time). Only in 1955, with the new Portuguese spelling rules, did it become Nescau.
In the 1970s Nescau launched a slogan remembered by generations and still in use: “Nescau. Energy that tastes good!”
This ad appeared in the Brazilian Mickey comic in 1970, still with the old slogan: “Nescau tastes like a party.”
