Air France | 1939

Bon voyage! Formed in 1933 from the merger of five French airlines, Air France published this lovely ad in 1939 in the French magazine Plaisir de France.
Its beautiful, “simple” illustration shows that at the time only wealthy families could travel by air.
The headline read: “We always travel by plane!”
A few months after it appeared, Air France suspended its flights because of the Second World War, resuming only in 1946.
With more than 85 years of history, Air France has weathered an increasingly competitive and unstable market and remains a global reference in commercial aviation.
Text in the ad
